It’s 5/6 days since I started my blog, what a fantastic hobby blogging is!

I’ve learned quite a bit by picking it up as I go along and I am wondering… should I continue blogging?

I am happy to announce that my daily blog views yesterday smashed their way into a four figure number and I have been contacted by some readers who have revisited my site! THANK YOU!

But what have I learned in such a short space of time blogging:

1)Be careful how I advertise my blog…

The internet is a fantastic place! and generally there are places where your blog link is welcome BUT it’s highly important to asses the situation and assure that your not “whoring” your site… this is perhaps by abusing a websites ‘loose’ advertising policies – whenever I am in doubt I will consult with website staff in future.

2)Write from the heart…

It might sound “cheesey”, “odd” or what ever else but it is necessary that you write from the heart and make sure your personality comes through in your posts… something I am working on!

3) Most of all have fun…

…It’s been a fun experience overall – I’ve written mainly about Britains Got Talent but I have also posted my general experieces as well as opinion on news most of which I have received very welcome comments from readers!

I think though I’ve found a great interest in blogging and I’m sure as I gain experience I will be posting more as time goes on. If anyone who is reading this is interested in blogging I would very much reccomend it!… What started as something I did on impulse has now moved onto making me think about my blogging in the future!

I often wonder what I will do “when I grow up!” I’m currently 19 and studied Computing at HNC level aswell as a media course. But I have not felt that it’s for me.

As the end of my college year approaches at a extremely fast rate I wonder “what have I acheived out of this year?”

I studied media and I have discovered that I don’t think this is the career I will pursue… although I enjoy writing I just don’t think it’s for me… Ofcourse for this reason I wonder whether I have wasted a year, I have not progressed towards my career afterall. However I think there are some things that have been truly great over the past year, I’ve met fantastic friends some of which are now my closest, I have learned general key skills and overall had a fun time and experienced new things - It’s not been a bed of roses though!

So as the year comes to an end and I relect whilst considering the future I wonder…

Who else is in a simmilar situation?

Britains Got Talent 2008 has finished and they are already accepting applications for BGT ’09!

We have had a very talented singer Paul Potts win BGT 2007 and a fantastic dancer George Sampson win BGT 2008… but whats next?

Pehaps a dance troupe, comedien or even juggler?

What would you like to see in BGT 2009?

If it’s anything like the past two series it will be an EXCELLENT show yet again!

It’s a day after the BGT 2008 winner George Sampson was revealed. George Sampson did a Dance routine in the style of the song ‘singing in the rain’. The top 3 finalists according to the public vote were:

1. George Sampson – Dance routine

2. Signature – with their signature dance routine

3. Andrew – Singer

but what about the others? Escala and Faryl were also fantastic but did not secure a place in the top three.

I think this year Britain was looking for a non-singing act which shows in the votes but viewers seem to have split opinions on who should have won, one viewer Susan Nicholsol who commented to my previous article said:

 

cannot believe faryl lost out !she had most votes in semi final !And escala were brilliant ! Ithink this phone voting needs scrutinising as I am sure people get denied chance to vote ,,as they are unable to get through”

 

I think though the winner has been announced and congratulations to him! And I’m sure all the other finalists will have enjoyed the experience and will also benefit from it in their career!

what a ride… but tonight it was decided that George Sampson was this years BGT WINNER!

followed by Signature 2nd and Andrew 3rd

…But what about the other acts that never made it to the last 3…

We had Faryl Smith, the talented opera singer – I’m pretty sure she deserved a spot in the last 3 at least!

For a while though it seemed apparrent who would win and seemed more conclusive as the time went on… Not only did George dance but apparently he was incredably liked by the public!

Another BGT year has passed… has the correct person won? comment below if you wish

what a ride it has been! we’ve seen fantastic acts and some rather fantastically bad acts along the way in Britains got Talent!

Tonight will decide who will walk away Britains Got Talent winner and secure a place in the Royal Variety Performance and £100,000!

I read that (here: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/pressass/20080531/tuk-tough-cigarette-controls-considered-6323e80.html )  the department of health is considering some ideas called “The Future of Tobacco control”. They hope to cut down smoking and make it less accessible to the younger generations in the hope that they don’t pick up the habit.

The proposals include removing branding and logos from all tobacco packaging and having a minimum pack size of 20 to stop young people who can only afford packs of 10 from buying cigarettes.

Other measures include restricting the display of tobacco products by placing them under shop counters, banning cigarette vending machines or restricting them to adults only

Athough good in theory there are clear ways teenagers are able to overcome these problems, for example if they cannot afford 20 packs they can simply “half in” with the cost of a 20 pack and two friends could buy a pack of 20 and share them. I also have a concern about keeping cigarettes under the counter out of view of the customer because if you stood in a queue for 10 minutes and found out they did’nt have your brand (or indeed cigarettes at all!) you will have wasted your time (which could in turn cause aggrivation with a lot of customers) - then again a benefit is that a shop could tell under age customers simply that they’re out of stock of cigarettes – avoiding arguements. Also I agree that cigarette machines should be restricted to over 18.

This is only half the picture, and who knows where these ideas will take us, were increasingly moving toward a “non smoking” world and as a non smoker with smokers in my family I can’t wait for smoking to become more restricted (or banned altogether!)

I have heard a lot of conversation about the “last in = win” theory!

During every semi-final this week the last act on stage has got straight through to the finals with the most votes!

Will this happen again tonight? If so it will see Madonna making it through to tomorrow nights final!
